Betty Ann McLuckie

Betty Ann St.Germain (Spiess) (Jones) McLuckie, at the age of 82 entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 05, 2013. She passed away peacefully at River Region Hospice House. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Alma & Dolese St.Germain; her sister Phyllis Montalbano; and Frank A. Jones Sr. She is survived by her beloved husband for the past 22 years, Robert (Bob) McLuckie; sons: William Spiess (Mary); David Jones (Beth); daughter: Phyllis Duncan (Warren); grandchildren: Jason, Josh, Justin, & Jayne Duncan; Lindsay & Kyle Jones; Jennifer & Sean Spiess; great-grandchildren: Izabella, Mikaela, Mia, & Ginobili Duncan; brother: Kenneth St Germain (Cynthia); along with 5 nieces & 3 nephews. Betty was born August 13th, 1930 and raised in Napoleonville, LA until moving to the French Quarter with her mother and siblings. She was a long time resident of Metairie and current resident of Livingston, LA. Betty led a fulfilled life. She was a longtime bookkeeper and owned Frank's Army Surplus. She was a former president of "Parents Without Partners" and member of the Krewe of Rhea and St. Benilde Parish. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress who loved traveling, metal detecting, and garage sales. But her undying loyalty was to one group, her New Orleans Saints. A former season ticket holder, even during the rough times, she never missed watching a game no matter where she was. Betty will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Relatives & friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at LEITZ-FUNERAL HOME, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, LA 70001, on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 10am-1pm. A service will begin at 1pm.
