Camille Katten Baer

Camille Katten Baer passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, in Mobile, Alabama where she had relocated following Hurricane Katrina. A lifelong resident and lover of New Orleans, Camille is survived by her daughter Nancy Brown, married to Dr. Charles Brown, of Mobile; her son Theodore Baer, married to Suzanne Baer, of New Orleans; her three grandchildren, Dr. Robert Charles Brown married to Dr. Jana Brown, of Fairhope, Alabama, Ellen Stein, married to Kerry Stein, of Birmingham, Alabama, and Dr. Andrew Brown , married to Dr. Jennifer Fulton, of Jacksonville, Florida; three great granddaughters, Camille Stewart Brown and Campbell Layne Brown of Fairhope, Alabama, and Katherine Lane Stein of Birmingham, Alabama; her sister Blanche Katten Gordon of Dallas, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Theodore; her sisters, Helene Katten Sperling and Rosalie Weil; and her brother Herman Katten.

The family wishes to thank her many long-time caregivers including: Geneva Marsh, Dorothy Parker, Lisa Williams and Gay Wilkerson of Mobile; and Dorothy Ayers, Ernestine Green and Barbara Thibodaux of New Orleans. Relatives and friends are invited to attend graveside services at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Hebrew Rest Cemetery No. 3, Frenchman and Pelopidas St, with Rabbi Edward Paul Cohn officiating.
