

Clarence M. Brooks, Jr. of Kenner, LA, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at the age of 79 while resting comfortably at home surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Gagliano Brooks; two sons, Carey (Laine) Brooks and Cody (Taylor) Brooks; a stepson, Tommy (Mindy) Powell and five grandchildren: Addie Brooks, Max Brooks, Sheppard Brooks, Taylor (James) Fann and Josh (Rachel) Powell. He is also survived by two siblings, Lee (Cherri) Brooks and Sarah (James) McArthur; seven great-grandchildren: Drew Brooks, Noah Brooks, Brinley Fann, Cohen Fann, Dakota Powell, Peyton Fann and Haidyn Powell in addition to many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence M. Brooks, Sr. and Ruthie Cobb Brooks; seven siblings: Edna Klein, Delphine (Raymond) Orr, Ester (Jack) Jones, Kathleen (Mel) Herrell, Nell (Art) Ensley, Jean Clark and Isaac Brooks and his daughter, Cindy (Bruce) Savell.
Clarence retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, MS where he met his truly loving wife of 17 years. He enjoyed his retirement whether it was fishing with his sons and grandsons, being with all of his family members (especially at reunions) or traveling.
The family would like to express their gratitude to his physical therapist, Hunter Arceneaux of Ochsner Home Health of New Orleans. Clarence bonded with him and shared a special relationship.
On November 13, 2025, Clarence came out of hip surgery saying he found his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A Memorial Service will be held on Clarence's 80th birthday, February 10, 2026, at 3:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm.
