

Colette Bergeron Mentz passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 9, 2021 at 3:33PM, at the age of 66. She was a breast cancer fighter who fought long and hard until the end, when God called her home. Colette was born on September 7, 1954 and was a life-long resident of Jefferson Parish.
She is preceded in death by her father, Dr. Robert P. Bergeron and grandson, Christopher Gaunt.
She is survived by her mother, Valdor Fourmaux Bergeron, her children, Chad Mentz (Megan), Jill Mentz Gaunt (Shawn), and Brittany Mentz-Hull (Larry), and grandchildren, Bréayna, Skylar, Jaxsen, Macie, Harper, Noah, Brylee, McKenzie, and Remy. She is also survived by her siblings, Bobbie Ann Bergeron, Paul Bergeron (Donna), Mary Vinet (Bill), Robert Paul Bergeron III (Cathy), and Laurie Barrois (Chuck), as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives, and friends.
Colette graduated from Riverdale High School and worked at Chateau Country Club for several years. She was a fun and outgoing person who loved dancing, cooking, shopping, and crafting. She cherished spending time with her family and friends, and will be remembered for her kind heart. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. Visitation will be held from 11AM – 1PM with a funeral Mass to begin at 1PM. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
