Dana Ruth Eastin

Dana Alexander Eastin passed away on March 17, 2012 surrounded by her family. Wife of Willard A. “Bill” Eastin, Jr. Mother of Karen Heap (Jody), Erin Merchant (Jeff) and Sharon Romig (Todd). Grandmother of Grace Gardere, Jake and Cole Heap, Sara and Lila Merchant and Jake and Julia Romig. She will now join her parents, Mike and Wynelle Alexander and her sister, Karen in their eternal reward.

Age 65. A native of San Angelo, TX and a resident of Metairie, LA. She had recently retired from Malcolm M. Dienes L.L.C. We thank them for their compassionate understanding as she fought through her illness. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Angelo Russo for his innovative and gentle care that gave Dana two additional years to be with her family after M.D. Anderson told her that there was nothing more that could be done for her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA, on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 11:30 am. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery in Cuero, TX. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society, 2605 River Rd., New Orleans, LA 70121 in Dana’s name appreciated.
