Darren was a decent man and the type you could genuinely like without reservation. We saw each other daily in Afghanistan, whether at work, at church service, or eating at the DFAC, and he never had an unkind word to say about anyone or anything. His warmth and humor were contagious and made many dark moments bearable for all of us. I will miss him greatly.

The Mullen Family:

I was deeply saddened more than words could ever express by the news of Darren's passing.  I have many fond memories growing up in the neighborhood with him - childhood birthday parties, my brother and the neighborhood boys playing football at the corner lot......I am truly blessed to have known him.  My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to the family.  When we lose a loved one here on earth, we gain an angel in heaven that watches over us. May it give you comfort in knowing that Darren is now an angel watching over all of you.

It was with great sorrow that we heard that Darren was gone.  The neighborhood will never be the same without his ready smile And friendship.  So proud of the husband, father, and soldier he grew up to be.  Our sincere sympathy and prayers go out to his family.
