Dawn Lynn Callaghan entered Heaven’s Gates on Monday, June 27, 2011, at the age of 62. She was preceded in death by her parents: John J. Callaghan Sr. and Leora C. Callaghan, brother: Patrick M. Callaghan Sr. She is survived by her husband: Thomas “Chick” Chighizola, two brothers: John J. Callaghan Jr. and Sidney J. Callaghan Sr., son: Nolte L. Links III, daughter: Christa L. Sciacca, son-in-law: Kirk W. Sciacca Sr. and daughter-in-law: Becky L. Lincks, grandson: Kirk W. Sciacca Jr, granddaughter: Brooke M. Sciacca, upcoming grandson: Nolte L. Lincks IV, and many nieces and nephews.
Dawn was born and raised in New Orleans and lived in the Irish Channel. She graduated from Fortier High School in 1967. She later married Nolte L. Lincks Jr. and moved to Terrytown where she raised their two children. Dawn worked for Dixie Carriers for 20 plus years. She remarried in the year 2006 to Thomas Chighizola, after a lengthy courtship, and then retired to Luling to enjoy her grandchildren. Dawn was a loving mother, devoted wife and a caring friend to many. Her smile alone would cheer anyone.
