Beloved wife of the late John A. Gibson Jr., having shared 38 years of Sacred Marriage.

Loving mother of John A. Gibson III (and wife, Faith), Carol Parker (and husband, Thomas), James Gibson and Steven Gibson (and wife, Chris).

Devoted grandmother of Miranda Trokey (and husband, D.J.), Alexander Gibson, Emily Parker, Samuel Gibson and Julia Gibson.

Proud great-grandmother of Landon Parker, Allison Matthews and Andrew Matthews.

Daughter of the late Iva Carriker and William “Mike” Helmkamp.

Sister of Darrel Helmkamp (and wife, Verna) and Galen Helmkamp (and wife, Twylla).

Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Mrs. Gibson was a faithful member of the First Christian Church of Greater New Orleans, past member of the former Jefferson Symphony Chorus and will always be loved and remembered by all who knew her.

Aged 84 years, a native of Burwell, Nebraska and a resident of Metairie, Louisiana for the past 44 years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service from Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel 4747 Veterans Blvd. Metairie, on Tuesday morning November 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.

Interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.
