

Diann Castin Pumphrey passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 21, 2024 at the age of 70. She was born to the late George and Audrey Castin on December 17, 1954 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She grew up in Kenner, Louisiana and attended Grace King High School. She went on to attend the University of New Orleans where she received a bachelor’s degree in business. She worked in the healthcare industry in durable medical equipment sales followed by managing and co-owning a home health care agency.
Diann is survived by her husband of 29 years, Richard G. Pumphrey, her daughter, Tiffany Fortunato Godbold (Dominic), her son, John Fortunato, Jr. (Mallary), and daughter, Tiffany Pumphrey. She was a beloved MiMi to Sarah, Bradley, Isabella, and Elizabeth Godbold and Brenden, Brittlyn, Bryce, Kennedy, and Kylee Fortunato, and a friend to sister-in-law, Debora Pumphrey Milam (late Joe Milam). Diann was preceded in death by her mother, Audrey Lemoine Castin, her father, George Alphonse Castin, and her sister, Cathleen Castin Guidry.
Diann enjoyed photography, traveling, her time spent in Natchez, Mississippi, shopping, and spending time with family – especially her grandchildren. She also adored her Shih Tzus – CoCo and Tinkerbell and the late Abbey, Maggie, and CiCi.
A memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, LA. Visitation will be held from 11 AM – 1 PM with a memorial Mass to begin at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation in Diann’s name to the Jefferson Parish SPCA.
