

Donald James Dubroc, age 76, entered into the Lord’s Kingdon on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 after a very brave battle with ALS. Mr. Dubroc was a native of New Orleans, LA, a former resident of Chalmette, LA and Laplace, LA and most recently a resident of Montz, LA. Beloved husband of 52 years to the late Jacquelyn Landreneau Dubroc. Father of Donna Dubroc Roussel (Scott), Dayna Dubroc Stratton (Timothy) and David John Dubroc. Grandfather of Alicia Dubroc Booker (Gabriel), Jordan Roussel (Amanda), Ashley Dubroc, Hannah Stratton Dirksmeyer (Tyler), Logan Roussel, Morgan Roussel and the late Matthew Roussel. Great grandfather of Jason Martin, Jr., Trent Roussel, Ava Roussel, Gabriel Booker, Jr., Gavin Booker and Gabrielle Booker. Son of the late Florien and Benita Gauthier Dubroc. Brother of Herrien Dubroc, Gary Dubroc and the late Yvonne Dubroc Guillory. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Mr. Dubroc was a graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School, was the retired owner of Caffin Food Store in New Orleans and was a parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Church in Laplace. He had a strong work ethic and was a very hard worker. He enjoyed music. Most of all he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family was his life and he enjoyed spending time with them. He will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives he touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Joan of Arc Church, 529 W. 5th Street in Laplace on Monday, April 5, 2021 beginning at 10:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 12:00 noon. Masks are mandatory when attending services. Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the ALS Foundation.
