Doris Harvey Fourcade

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Jack Fourcade Sr., her parents, Bernard and Elvina Harvey, and her sister, Sandra Authement.

She is survived by her children, Jack Fourcade Jr. (the late Cheryl), Glenn Fourcade (Kim), and Darlene LeBreton (the late Gerald), grandchildren, Leigh-Ann Brouillette (Craig), Jonathan Fourcade (Chrissa), Melissa Fourcade, and Angelle Fourcade, and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Lurline Burkhardt, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Doris was a graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School in New Orleans and retired from the Times-Picayune in 2012, after over 50 years of service. She was a founding member of St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church where she often volunteered and received the Order of St. Louis Medallion and several St. Clement of Rome awards. She was a member of the AARP East Jefferson Chapter and the Young Elders of St. Clement of Rome. Doris had an active social life and loved to take cruises and bus trips. She had a kind heart, was always willing to help someone in need, and loved animals. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.

The family would like to thank St. Catherine’s Hospice for the care they gave to Doris.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. Metairie, LA. Visitation will be held from 9AM -11AM with a funeral Mass to begin at 11AM. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
