Doris D. Kellum

Doris D. Kellum passed away on June 19th, 2023, after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. She will join her beloved companion of 30 years, Thomas (Tommy) Ward in eternal life. She is survived by sons David (Anne) Kellum and Marc Kellum, and grandchildren Molly, Kate, Lexi, Hunter, and Gage. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Devine Sr. and Pauline Williams Devine, as well as sister Patricia (Lenny) Hart and niece Shannon Devine. She leaves behind her brothers Ervin (Eileen), Johnny (Angie), Kevin (Glenda) Devine, and sister-in-law Sherry (Steve) Maurin. She was a loving aunt to nephews Scott (Beth), Matthew (Crysta), nieces Denise (Delton), Dawn (Scott), Julie (Randal), Amanda and Joanna Devine, and Stacey (Andrew) Wilton, along with her girls Madison and Meredith. She had many cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom she loved dearly, but are too numerous to name.

Doris graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. She started her career with Mutual Benefit, now MetLife, as an application clerk and worked her way to become an office manager, where she met many lifelong friends and acquaintances. Doris adored her children and grandchildren and loved watching them play ball or participate in many of their other endeavors. She was very proud of each of them.

She was an avid fan of LSU and Tulane football, baseball, and softball and watched as many games as possible. She enjoyed trips to the casino and visited Henry’s Uptown Bar along with Tommy, where they made many friends. She will be sadly missed by all.

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana on Monday, June 26, 2023. Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm. Interment will immediately follow at St. Patrick No. 1, 5000 Canal St., New Orleans, Louisiana.
