Earle John Christenberry Jr.

Earle John Christenberry, Jr., a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and resident of River Ridge, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at the age of 89. Earle was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Gladys Simoneaux Christenberry and his parents, Earle John Christenberry, Sr. and Mary F. Christenberry. Survived by his children, John E. Christenberry, Sr. (Pam) of Metairie, Robert G. Christenberry (Janet) of Braselton, GA and Jane C. Bailey (Kerry) of Gretna. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, Jennifer C. Champagne (Doug), John E. Christenberry, Jr., Nicole C. Cline (Ronnie), Robert G. Christenberry, Jr., Erik M. Bailey and Shane M. Bailey, and 5 great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Champagne, Macy Champagne, Sophie Champagne, Logan Cline and Ethan Christenberry. Earle was a proud graduate of the Class of 1945 from Saint Stanislaus College, Bay St. Louis, MS. He was also a member of the Saint Stanislaus College Hall of Fame. Earle was a retired court reporter and co-owner of Associated Reporters. He was past International President and lifetime member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and Ring 27, and a lifetime member of the Magic Circle and Society of American Magicians. He was also a member of the Executives Club of Louisiana. Earle and Gladys were proud and loyal fans of the New Orleans Saints, having been original season ticket holders. Relatives and friends of the family, including the International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial, Boulevard, Metairie, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.. Interment will be held at St. Patrick’s Cemetery No. 3, 143 City Park Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana.
