Edith Schaefer Schneider Lemaire

Edith Schaefer Schneider Lemaire passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013. Loving wife of the late Melvin Schneider for 24 years and the late Marcel Lemaire for 38 years. Survived by three sons; Melvin, Wayne and Craig Schneider; two daughters-in-law, Deweylene and Lynne Schneider; five grandchildren, Melvin Schneider, III, James Schneider, Rachel Cooley (Jermaine), Kyle Schneider and Ellen Schneider and one great grandchild, Harrison Cooley. Daughter of the late Edward Schaefer and Augusta Scheuermann. Sister of the late Reverend Edwin Schaefer and Theresa Schaefer Lolan. Special relative to numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, especially Mimi and Doris. Edith was a lifelong member of Jackson Avenue Evangelical Church and was a dedicated Sunday school teacher for many years. Thank you to the staff at Ville Ste. Marie and Covenant Home and a special thank you to her roommate, Marilyn. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Jackson Avenue Evangelical Church, 2221 Chippewa St., in New Orleans, LA on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 beginning at 10:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Lafayette Cemetery No. 1. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Jackson Avenue Evangelical Church.
