Edward Gladden Austin

He retired in 2009 from Herbert S Hiller after 40 plus years of dedicated service. During his retirement he was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and really enjoyed helping others. Ed was an extremely loving, generous, gentle and loyal man.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Louis Austin and Ida Mary LeCompte and an elder brother, Daniel Louis Austin.

He is survived by his wife Susan, his sister Wilmoth Senentz, his brother David Austin and wife Noreen, and sister-in-law Pat Austin. Ed also had close relationships with his in-laws, Becky Miller, Michael Harrell, Marilyn Olsen and Brinkley Harrell.

His many nieces and nephews were very special to him - Robert Austin, Michael Austin, Steven Senentz, Anita Senentz, Bonnie Strong, Pat Senentz, Mary Austin, Dave Austin, Leman Miller, Jesse Miller, Lauren Kebodeaux, Matthew Harrell, Stephanie Bettis, Jeffrey Harrell, Lisa Giroir, Cary Olsen, Charlie Olsen and 15 great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Leitz Eagan funeral home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie, LA on Monday, February 27 starting at 4 PM with the memorial service at 6 PM.

Donations in Ed's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency.
