Elaine Palmisano

Elaine Palmisano, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2013. She is survived by her daughter Joy Alexander (Jack) and son Ronnie Palmisano (Karen); grandchildren, Jill, Brent, Craig, Cedric, Elaine; step- grandchildren, Kelly and Shelly; great-grandchildren, Brent Charles, Jack, Samuel, Helena, Dominic, Lane, Ellie; step-great grandchildren, Patrick, Shelby, Kaylie, Gregory, Ryan, and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Dominic Palmisano, her parents, Carrie and Cornelius Wolf and her brother Emile Wolf.

She was a caring, nurturing, funny, and generous person. She was the most unselfish person that you could ever know, always putting God and others first. She raised her own children, helped raise her niece, and later, grandchildren. She lovingly cared for her mother, aunt and husband with so much love for many years. She was adored as a wife, mother, mother -in-law, friend, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. Every minute spent with her was pure joy.

Relatives and friends are invited to the celebration of her life at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie from 9 – 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013 followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Cypress Grove Cemetery in New Orleans.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 or to Canon Hospice at The Akula Foundation, P.O. Box 850715, New Orleans, LA 70185-0715 are preferred.
