Elliott Joseph Gaulon

Elliott was born on October 23, 1938 to the late, Dr. Aristide C. Gaulon, Sr. and Elizabeth Daly Gaulon. A life-long New Orleanian, he met the love of his life at the age of 15, Josephine Pumila, and they married on June 15, 1958. Elliott graduated with honors from St. Aloysius High School in 1957 and went on later to study business at Tulane University and Loyola University of New Orleans. Elliott was also a reservist in the Air Force National Guard, volunteer police officer, and had a successful career in banking; he retired after serving as the Senior Vice-President of Commercial Bank.

Elliott was a devout Catholic, loved his country, and always had a thirst for knowledge and found joy instilling those values into his children and grandchildren. Throughout the years, he also enjoyed numerous hobbies including horseback riding, fishing, hunting, and photography.

With all his success and hobbies, his most cherished accomplishment was his family. Elliott was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Aristide C. Gaulon, Sr. and Elizabeth Daly Gaulon, and siblings, Aristide C. Gaulon, Jr., James Daly Gaulon, Sr., Gloria Widanka, Betty Seybold, and Marguarite Jenkins. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Josephine Pumila Gaulon; their two daughters and caring son-in-laws, Cynthia (Carl) Guidry, and Pamela (Jeffrey) Reid; four grandchildren Crystal Guidry Vaccaro, Christopher (Courtney) Guidry, Sr., Victoria Marie Reid (Fiancé Chandler Fields), and Diana Grace Reid; three great grandchildren, Hunter Joseph Vaccaro, Veronica Ann Vaccaro, and Christopher Carl Guidry, Jr, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He will be dearly missed by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6500 Kawanee Ave., Metairie, LA 70003 on Friday, November 8, 2024. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am with a Mass at 11:30 am followed by interment at Lakelawn Cemetery.
