Florence May Eichaker Walter

Florence May Eichaker Walter passed away peacefully at her residence in Metairie Healthcare on her 90th birthday, January 8, 2017. She was a native of New Orleans and has been a resident of Metairie for the majority of her life. Beloved wife of the late Robert Arthur Walter. Loving mother of Dorothy Walter Cotten, Donald Walter, and Joann Walter Terranova (Husband, Joseph Terranova Jr.). Grandmother of Wade Robert Cotten (Wife, Beverly Wright-Osment Cotten), Jason Terranova, and Jessica Terranova. Surviving sister of Alberta Cazabon. Daughter of the late Mable and William Henry Eichaker. Sister of the late William Eichaker, Alma Savona, Catherine Traylor, Inez Miller, Rose Brown, Gerald Eichaker, Amelia Eichaker, and Dorothy Eichaker. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. “Flo” devoted her life to caring and loving for her family, friends, and anyone who needed her. She was a former member of the N’Awlins Winnies and Pelican Winnies Winnebago travel clubs and enjoyed arts and crafts. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Monday morning, January 16, 2017 at 10:30. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:30 and again on Monday morning beginning at 10:00. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose.
