

Francis Leonard Maone, Jr. passed away peacefully in his home on Friday morning, January 8, 2016. He was 67 years old. Born on May 4, 1948 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Devoted, loving husband and soulmate of Catherine Davidson Maone for 38 years. Son of the late Lillian Courcelle and Francis Leonard Maone Sr. Father of Francis Leonard Maone, III, Samuel Joseph Maone, II, Joshua Dugas Maone (Kayla), Antonio Guiseppe Maone, and Patricia Charm Maone, Jr. Grandfather of Mia Catherine Maone, Lillian Rose Maone, and Francis Leonard Maone, IV, all of whom the Sun rose and set upon. Brother of Joseph S. Maone (Ellen Mae), Dominick M. Maone (Angela), and the late Gloria P. Maone and Cynthia A. Maone. Uncle of Scott Gutterman (Kathy), Mitch Gutterman, Michael D. Maone, Joseph Maone, Brianne Maone Deslatte (Jared), and Gina Maone Autin. Also survived by a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and foster children that his parents raised. Francis never met a stranger. He had so many wonderful friends that became a part of our family. He was very devoted to his friend, the late Sheriff Harry Lee and was very active with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office for 28 years. He was a wonderful humanitarian and was very devoted to Children’s Hospital and Magnolia School for many years. He worked every golf tournament for so many different charities and politicians, he became known as the “Hamburger Man”… He was a very loving man who never turned his back on anyone in need. He helped everyone…Francis was also the owner of Jefferson Auto Service Goodyear for the past 47 years. He worked there with his wife and his children. He appreciated his customers and most of them became family to him. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Frank Maone fund would be greatly appreciated. Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Monday morning, January 11, 2016 at 11:00. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6:00 until 10:00, and again on Monday morning from 9:00 until the time of the service. Interment will be private.
