Frank John Mason

Frank John Mason passed away in his home on Thursday morning, December 7, 2017. He was 75 years old. Beloved husband of Laverne Paine Mason of over 52 years. Loving father of John James Mason, Raffy Rigney (George), Philip Frank Mason (Lara). Grandfather of Georgie Rigney, Martha Rigney, Reese Mason, Sawyer Mason, and Luke Mason. Brother of Nancy Merrick (Paul) and the late John James Mason Jr. Son of the late John James Mason Sr. and Raffaela Lauro Mason. Uncle of Joycelyn Fury and Neil Merrick. Frank was a native of New Orleans and graduated from Cor Jesu High School and Louisiana State University in New Orleans. After college, Frank taught special needs children after at the former Lakeside School. He retired from Colgate-Palmolive as a Pharmaceutical Representative after 28 years. During his time there, he received the “President’s Award” for salesman of the year. He was a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment and lifetime member of the NRA. He was also a skilled woodworker and he spent his teenage years repairing cars at his father’s service station. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at ST. ANN CHURCH AND SHRINE, 3601 Transcontinental Drive, Metairie, on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 12:00 noon.
