

Frederick (Fred) is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia Anne Waaser Kreger, one son, Robert Stephen Kreger and wife Catherine Burk Kreger, one daughter, Tracy Lee Kreger and fiancée Jimmy Lange, one grandson, Nicholas Joseph Kreger, one sister Phyllis Kreger Boss, and many other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick J. C. Kreger, his mother, Albertine Souderes Kreger, two sisters, Mildred Kreger Martin Collins and Gloria Kreger Collette, and half brother, George Kreger.
Fred graduated from Fortier High School in 1941 and attended Louisiana State University, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1943, and served in World War II on the U.S.S. Augusta, participating in many North Atlantic campaigns, including the Invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944.
Active in numerous organizations, Fred was a member of Louisiana Lodge No. 102 F.E. & A.M., as well as the Greater New Orleans Bonsai Society and the National Association of Watch & Clock. He truly had a great love for his wife, children and friends, a very kind heart, and will be dearly remembered as a devoted husband, father, and friend to many.
A memorial service will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie, Louisiana, on Friday, December 12 at 11:00 a.m. The service will be preceded by a visitation at 10:00 a.m. All Louisiana Lodge members are invited to attend a masonic ceremony.
