Dear Gary,
I know all of the family and Charles misses you dearly.  Your compassion for the animals, your sense of fairness, and the deep wound that your passing eventuated may never be healed.  I'd like to think that just maybe, someday those who need it most, will reconcile their differences that only you were able to negotiate with your composed demeanor.  I will always miss your posts of honoring your family and the ancestors who left before you.

It's taken me too long to leave this message, not just because of the overwhelming grief I feel, but also because I just wanted to get it right. How can I possibly sum up a lifetime of memories and feel like I've done the proper justice to you? What can I say that will fill the hole you've left in my life.

Uncle Gary was a lot of things, but first and foremost: he was Funny. Ever irreverent, his quick-witted comebacks could never be topped. Practically nothing was sacred, but as Clairee once said, "If you don't have anything nice to say, come sit by me."

Some of my fondest memories with Uncle Gary were just spent watching Barbra Streisand movies and randomly quoting movie/tv show lines back to each other. It's a little thing, but it's a part of who we were together. Our quotes come to me almost every day, and it breaks my heart to know that no one is there to really GET them anymore.

He lived for Halloween and bought any standing animatronic he could get his hands on. He made the best banana pudding for Thanksgiving, and there was always a scramble to get a container before it was completely demolished. He could smell onions in a dish at twenty paces, and he was NOT subtle when it came to voicing his disdain for them. Above all, Uncle Gary was protective and did not put up with anyone's B.S. 

Uncle Gary, so much of who I am is due to you, and it feels inherently wrong and an injustice that you're gone. I don't know how we're supposed to keep on when life without you just seems...less. I'm proud that you always considered me to be your favorite niece, and I'll cherish the memories and stories that I have of you. I hope you'll watch over us until we see you again. Happy birthday and I love you, Witch. I'll miss you forever.

Dear Charles and Rigdon Family, 
Still trying to adjust to the three losses in a row to the Rigdon Family this year.  Evelyn N Rigdon, my sister, and Gary's momma and Harold A Rigdon, my brother in law and Gary's dad and now Gary, my nephew, who was the voice of reason among his siblings and a genuine human being that cared deeply for all living creatures, especially for those with no voice among us humans.  His love  of flora and fauna gave care to the plants and comfort to the animals he encountered and cultivated.  His devotion to his parents care when their health was failing, brought them much support, ease and reassurance.  I know they are all together where there are no tears or pain.

Dear Gary, I never got to meet you face to face even though it was on my bucket list. You were truly a hilarious and caring soul that I am so glad crossed my path in chat. I will miss your posts so much. They brought many smiles to sometimes really bad days. You were there for me in a time in my life that I needed a bouncing board and I truly appreciate it. Rest in peace dear friend. I know Sweetie Girl is right there with you :)

I never got the chance to meet this beautiful soul in person, but through chat, Yahoo messenger, Facebook, and phone calls, he was like a big brother I never had.  He was the kindest soul and he loved himself some Charlie. He loved his birds, cats, and I know the first thing he saw when
He got to Heaven was Sweetie Girl waiting for him.  Rest in Peace, my sweet BabyBoy and in your favorite sayings, “ take care and
Do ya hair”. My prayers are with the family, as I know this has been a very rough year for them.

Dear family of Gary,
     We never know the hour or the day when the Lord calls one home. As your neighbor for a long time, two doors over, we have seen many changes take place in our surrounding.
     Please accept our condolences in the loss of Gary, a gentle spirit.
I would always hear his chickens cackling to lay eggs, early in the day. Having been to my own grandmother's farm, it was a welcoming sound.
     I will remember your support of Charles, from the porch, as projects took place at your home.
     The Lord has carried us in our own family loss, our Chris, as I hope  He will carry all of you during this time. May you be comforted by

Though our Face to Face paths crossed only occasionally over the past 25 years, Our time Chatting and messaging on the Internet was truly uplifting. The impact you had on my life was profound. Your kindness, laughter, Quirky smile, and shared moments left an indelible mark.

I will constantly reflect on our memories or our interactions and I'll find solace in knowing that you touched my heart in ways words can’t fully express. Your absence leaves a void, but I’ll forever cherish the times we laughed, the conversations we had, and the respect and admiration we had between us.

May you rest in peace, my dear friend. Thank you for being a part of my journey and you will live on in my memories and not be forgotten.
