Gayle Ann Patureau Young, age 72, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on July 3, 2018. She is preceded in death by her late parents, Louis E. Patureau, Jr. and Gertrude M. Boudreaux Patureau. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert R. Young, Sr.; her children, Robert R. Young, Jr. (wife Liz), Scot D. Young (wife Samantha); and affectionately known as “G.G.” to her granddaughter, Jordan E. Young.
Gayle was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, and once she met the love of her life, they relocated to Beeville, Texas while Bob was stationed in the Navy. Once his tour of duty was over, they settled back to the New Orleans area where they spent most of their lives in Metairie. Gayle had a smile that would light up a room. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, spreading her love and devotion to her faith. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana, on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm and the Mass of Christian Burial begins at 1:00 pm. A funeral procession will follow to Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum, 5190 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, Louisiana.
