George Edward Brink left this life for the next on April 16th, 2018, at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick W. Brink and Catherine Herbert Brink, his beloved brothers and sister, Frederick W. Brink Jr., John J. Brink Sr., and Anna B. Smith, and niece and nephew Maryann Brink and Frederick Smith. He is survived by nieces and nephews Edward and Neal Smith, John J. Brink Jr. (Sally), Catherine B. Vest (Artie), Rosemary B. Schellhaas (Buzzy), and Catherine Smith (Sean), as well as many great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews. George proudly served in WWII and spent time with artillery training in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He retired from Blue Plate Foods after more than 30 years. He was true New Orleans character. He dearly loved his city and its' music, especially Irma Thomas and was the proud owner of many of her autographed photos. He was well known Uptown for his bright red hair, his great smile, and his deerstalker hat which he wore everywhere. No one can remember an unkind word from him. His wit and laugh will be greatly missed. He was much loved.
