George Anthony Dragon

George Anthony Dragon was called to his eternal rest on Sunday, September 16, 2012, after a courageous battle with stomach cancer at the age of 44. George was a devoted and loving husband to Sandra Fieramusca Dragon for 17 years and a loving and dedicated father to Samantha Dragon and Troy Moran-Dragon.

He is survived by his parents, Betty McCain Dragon and Emile Dragon, his brothers and best friends Warren (Jane), Mark (Tammy), and Wayne (Sylvia) Dragon. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Samuel Cicero and is mourned by his mother-in-law Deanne Cicero, his sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandnephew and grandniece.

George was a friend to everyone he met especially Mike Kelly and Marcel Whitman, Jr. and was always the life of the party. He loved football, coaching and watching NASCAR. A resident of Kenner, George graduated from Bonnabel High School and coached football with his brothers at Wentwood Playground in Kenner and girls’ volleyball for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. He was involved in his neighborhood, his church and gave back to his community. He was employed by Lipps Printing, Inc. as a press operator for a number of years.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life and mourn his passing with a Funeral Mass at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA on Saturday, September 22,2012 at 12:00 noon. Visitation on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 9:00 am until Mass time. Interment in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. If there was ever a man who enjoyed life and loved people, George was that man.
