George John Thomas Jr.

John is survived by his beloved wife of sixty years, Sylvia, and his children, Tammy, Jennifer, Johnny, Melissa, and Zack. He is survived by his four grandsons, Andrew (Mariel), Zachary (Ellie), Hunter, and Jackson and his precious great-granddaughter, Camille.

He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Marilyn Magendie and his brother-in-law, Richard O'Neil.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George J. Thomas, Sr. and Mildred Ferry Thomas, and his sister, Gail Thomas O'Neil.

John was a man of deep faith who devoted his life to his family. He was filled with gratitude for the many blessings bestowed upon him and his loved ones by our Lord. He was always quick with a smile and found joy in life's everyday moments. He was a faithful member of St. Angela Merici Parish and the Knights of Columbus.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Angela Merici Church, 901 Beverly Garden Dr., Metairie, LA on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
