

heroic battle with cancer on Thursday, February 9, 2012. Glenn was born in New Orleans on November 3, 1946, but raised in Buras, LA. Beloved husband and best friend of Suzanne Gomez Buras; loving father of Sean David Buras and Brandy Nicole Buras from previous marriages. Also survived by Mother-in-law Joyce Gomez Stafford (Charles), step-daughter Christine Marie Rorabaugh, daughter-in-law Annabelle Perez Tablan Rorabaugh, sister-in-laws Vivian Perkins Buras, Donna Gomez Ishee, Melanie Gomez Vasalech (David), step-grandfather of Patricia Marie Rorabaugh and a host of other relatives and friends. Son of the late Flora Josephine Kinkella Buras and Richard Benjamin Buras; brother of the late Richard Anthony Buras; and step-father of the late Richard John Rorabaugh, Jr. Glenn was a graduate of Delgado College with a degree as a drafting engineer. After retirement in 2006 as a ship building draftsman for 38 years, Glenn started a customized sign business. Glenn was a lifetime supporter of Tulane Athletics, specifically the baseball program, where he was honored to be a member of the elite Tulane Grounds Krewe for 16 years. Glenn’s avid love of Mardi Gras included designing, creating props, and riding on a float Mardi Gras Day for 30 years with the Elks Orleanians and Jeffersonians organizations. Glenn was also an accomplished league and tournament bowler, and enjoyed playing golf. Everyone who loved him knew Glenn lived life to the fullest and touched the lives of everyone he met. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home located at 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, LA, on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 between 7:00-10:00 pm. The family requests casual attire for visitation on Thursday, February 16, 2012, between 9:00-11:00 am, followed by a Christian Mass in the Chapel and interment at Our Lady of Good Harbor Cemetary in Buras, LA.
