Guillermo Bueno Guillen

Guillermo B. Guillen, “El Tigre”, age 89, passed away on June 26, 2013. He was born Feb. 10, 1924 in Progreso, Honduras. Guillermo was a native of Progreso who immigrated to New Orleans, La. in 1954, a resident of the French Quarter, Farbourg Marigny, and later Metairie, La.

He is preceded in death by his parents Benito and Mercedes Guillen, and a grandchild Olivia Marie. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Abigail P. Guillen, his four children, Maria (Lupe) Guillen- Williamson (Billy), Glenn (Susanne), Gary (Todd), Ginny Guillen-Davis (Jim), four grandchildren, Jackie, Jerry, Christopher and Jonathan, and two great-grandchildren Julian and Jack, and 9 grandpets.

Mr. Guillermo was a Merchant Marine for 38 years and a member of the National Maritime Union. He was employed and retired from Metairie Manor in Metairie, La.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70001 on Monday, July 01, 2013 at 2:00 pm.
