Guy James Demoruelle

Guy James Demoruelle, born on July 12th 1959 passed away on Monday June 2nd 2025. Beloved husband of 39 years to Karen Amedee Demoruelle, father of Danielle Demoruelle Helmstetter (John), and James Lawrence Demoruelle (Beth), bonus daughter Laura Misiak Matrana (Jeff). Most beloved and cherished grandfather to Landon Demoruelle, Aubree Demoruelle, Colby Demoruelle, Hudson Helmstetter, Amelia Helmstetter, Emmett Matrana, Graham Matrana. Survived by siblings, Marc Demoruelle (Linda), Denise Curwick, Gay Giroir (Ricky). Preceded in death by his parents, Nell Demoruelle and James I. Demoruelle, sister Charmaine Demoruelle. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Guy was born in New Orleans, married the love of his life, and raised two beautiful children. He found immense joy in life’s simple pleasures such as fishing, camping, spending time with his family, and playing for the LSU band as well as the American Legion Band. His love for the outdoors was only surpassed by his deep devotion to his wife, his children, and his cherished grandchildren. Guys kindness and infectious spirit touched all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie, La on Friday, June 20th 2025 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.

Though we will deeply feel his absence, the memories of his love, laughter, and passion for life will forever remain in our hearts. Tight lines and Geaux Tigers.
