Hamilton "Sonny" V. Doney Jr.

Hamilton V. Doney, Jr. “Sonny” 68, of Metairie, LA passed away peacefully with members of his family at his side on February 25, 2011 at East Jefferson Hospital. He had battled pulmonary disease for many years. Born in Saratoga Springs, NY before moving to Metairie in 1961 from Melbourne, FL. He retired from Elliott

Machinery where he was a machinist. He was a craftsman and took a lot of pride in his work. He was a connoisseur of good food and enjoyed cooking. He was active in the Saratoga Drum and Bugle Corp. for many years. He is survived by his beloved friend and companion Fran Mitchell of Metairie, his mother, Katherine Doney of Clearwater, sister Carol Lopreato (Andy) of Clearwater, niece Melissa Lopreato of Palm Harbor, FL. Also survived by several cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Hamilton Doney, Sr. and his son Hamilton Doney, III.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 6:00 pm.
