

Henry Edgar Lescale, Jr. 86, passed away in the kind hands of the staff at River Regions Hospice House after a lengthy battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Elaine Troxclair Lescale and his children, Clement Lescale (Mary Gene), II, Henry Edgar Lescale, III, Richard Lescale (Leetrice), Russell Lescale (Cherie) and Lorna Lynn Lescale Culton (Bill); step-chiildren Richard Troxclair (Amy), Susan Troxclair Daniel (David), Donna Troxclair Laird (Geoff), David Troxclair (Angel); brother, Melvin Lescale (Lillian) and numerous grand and great-grand children. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Lorna Blancaneaux Lescale, parents Henry Edgar Lescale, Sr. and Antoinette Haisch Lescale; brother, Clement Anthony Lescale and stepchildren Karen Troxclair Tennant and Mary Troxclair Kestler. Mr. Lescale was a native of New Orleans a resident of the Terrytown for 30 years, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of Loyola University. He retired from Texaco in 1978. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6870 (Terrytown) and AARP Chapter 4924. He volunteered his time delivering meals. He also volunteered as a Lector and Minister of Hospitality at St. Philip Neri Church in Metairie. He loved traveling, socializing, acting and spending time at his country house in Amite. He taught everyone around him to live life to the fullest.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd. on Thursday July 1, 2010 from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Philip Neri Church, 6500 Kawanee Ave. Interment in Westlawn Cemetery.
