Jack William Collier

Jack William Collier, World War II Veteran, age 90, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015. Son of the late, Dorothy Dial and Jack W. Collier Sr., loving husband of Alice Peyroux Bowes Harris Collier, stepfather to Albert Bowes, Jr., John J. Bowes, Sr. (Kay), Michael M. Bowes, Sr. (Judy), Mary B. Ashley (Rick) and Patti B. Davis (Gary).

Beloved husband of the late Ruth Juanita Howard Collier for more than 50 years and loving father of Phyllis Collier Hicks Hester, Kathy Collier Mehl (Robert), Jacqueline “Jackie” Collier Michalczyk (the late Richard), and Jerry William Collier (Michelle).

Brother of Lillie Louise Collier Ward, Martha Collier Moscarello, Alice Collier Shepard and the late Maurice Chevalier and Linda Chevalier Beatty. Also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jack honorably served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. He was a proud member of the Crew of LST-70, a previous member of the Masons and the American Legion post 350. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the wake at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd in Metairie on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.Visitation will begin on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11:00am with the Funeral Mass beginning at 1:00pm.
