James R. Luke

James R. Luke of Metairie, LA passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the age of 90. He was the beloved husband of Blanche Luke for 63 years. He was the son of the late Lenzey F. Luke, Sr. and Marie Roundtree Luke and the brother of the late Doris M. Luke Kuhn (Herbert), Shirley C. Luke Murphy (Joseph), Marion G. Luke, Lenzey F. Luke Jr. (Antoinette), Mary Louise Luke Knipe (Pete), Rose Marie Luke Willis (Ronald), Hazel Fay Luke Calcote (William) and Gerald John Luke. James was a ticket agent with Eastern Airlines for 35 years and with Sato Travel for 23 years. He also served in the U.S. Navy. Besides enjoying his family, he took great pleasure in fishing.

Services will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie on Friday, June 7, 2024. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am followed by a Memorial Mass.
