James Dale Restel Sr.

James Dale Restel, Sr., age 77, passed away at St. Theresa’s Specialty Hospital in Kenner, LA on Sunday, January 20, 2013. Beloved husband of Wunita Seemann Duffy Restel for 56 years. Father of James D. Restel, Jr. (Erin), Michael D. Restel (Lynn) and the late Stephanie Restel Revolta (Joseph). Son of the late Gustave E. Restel and Helen Shevlin Restel. Brother of the late Bruce A. Restel. Also survived by five grandchildren: Brandon J. Restel (Emily), Ensign Kristopher S. Restel USN, Eric J. Restel, Daniel R. Moldaner and Sabrina Moldaner Primes (Chad). Mr. Restel was born in Cleveland, Ohio and lived in Louisiana since 1947. He became a resident of LaPlace in August 2001. He attended St. Agnes Elementary and De La Salle High School and received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (formerly USL). He served four years in the US Air Force; served as Assistant Scout Master of Troop 115 in Harahan, LA; was past president of St. Rita Home and School Association in Harahan and was former president of BOMA (New Orleans Chapter of Building Owners and Managers Association). He retired as a Vice President of Pan American Life Insurance Company.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the River Parish Hospital staff and ICU as well as Canon Hospice for their compassionate care.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 11:30 am. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
