

Jean Rovira Campo, affectionately known by her family as “Jeannie Beanie”, was called Home on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Frank J. Campo, Sr. CLU. Loving mother of Donna M. Goings (Larry), Frank J. Campo, Jr. (Adrianne), Steven M. Campo, and Melissa C. DePriest (Deston). Proud grandmother of Brian J. Goings, Christian M. Campo, Victoria N. Campo, Callie N. DePriest, and Asa J. DePriest. Daughter of the late Clifford D. and Florence H. Rovira. Sister-in-law of Phyllis Campo-Giuffre, Theresa C. Groves, Connie C. Parke, and Nicholas J. Campo, Jr. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, friends, and her beloved pets.
Jean was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Metairie for most of her life. For many years, she was a parishioner of St. Philip Neri Church, where she proudly served as a Minister of Hospitality. Jean was also a member of the Golden Ages Club and enjoyed playing card games with her friends. She was devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a caretaker by nature which was exemplified in her love for animals. She was very passionate when it came to caring for all of God’s creatures. Her genuine and kind personality will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege of loving her.
Relatives and friends of the family, and employees of St. Francis Villa Assisted Living are invited to attend the Memorial Service at St. Philip Neri Church, 6500 Kawanee Ave., in Metairie on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at noon. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the time of the Service. Inurnment will follow at Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.
