Jean M. Ruffino LeBreton, of Kenner, LA, beloved wife of Michael LeBreton, departed this life on June 6, 2024, one day shy of her 71st birthday, after a courageous fight with cancer. Jean was predeceased by her parents, Jacquelyn Leveque and Eugene C. Ruffino, and her son, Scott James Taylor. Jean is survived by her loving siblings, Karen Mancuso (Frank), Mattia (Tia) Hauck (Hank), and Charles Ruffino (Renee); stepdaughter, Mignon L. Freeman (Joseph); two paternal aunts, Charlene Ruffino Philippi and Teresa Ruffino Matassa; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Jean was born and raised in the Gentilly Neighborhood of New Orleans, graduated from St. James Major High School in 1972, and remained in the greater New Orleans metro area her whole life. In 2021, Jean retired as a floor supervisor at Treasure Chest Casino, having started working there the day it opened.
Memorial Services will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA, on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 11 am to 1 pm; a Memorial Service will follow at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society.
