Jerry Lee Baggett Sr.

Jerry Lee Baggett Sr. passed away peacefully in his home on Friday morning, March 4, 2016. He was 84 years old. Beloved former husband of Beatrice Louise Baggett Monju, the late Paulette Hubert Baggett, and the late Dorothy Martino Breal. Father of Jerry Lee Baggett Jr. (Margaret), Theresa Faustermann (William), Marie Moreau (Paul), Anne Sanders, Phyllis Webb (Leo), Andrew Joseph Baggett (Renee), Jared Osterhold (Helen), and the late Jerry Johnson. Brother of Jim W. Baggett, Martha Baggett Boggs, Sherry Baggett Richard, Mary Elizabeth Rogers, and Peggy Logan. Step-father of John J. Sabatier IV (Jennifer) and Patricia Sabatier Russo (Bobby). Also survived by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jerry was a native of Alabama City, Alabama, and has been a resident of New Orleans for the majority of his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict, stationed on the U.S.S. Wright and the U.S.S. Randolph Carrier. He was also a graduate of Delgado Community College in New Orleans. He served as a 1st Class Stationary Engineer for Armour & Company, and later the YMCA on Lee Circle. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from ST. ANN CHURCH AND SHRINE, 3601 Transcontinental Drive, Metairie, on Saturday morning, March 12, 2016 at 11:00. Visitation will begin at 9:00 in church.
