Joan Franz Barbot, age 90, departed this life into God’s presence on Thursday, December 26, 2024. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a longtime resident of Metairie, LA. Beloved wife of 60 years to the late Herman “Moe” Barbot. Mother of Chris Barbot (Cindy), Brenda Flynn (Kenny), Beverly Roberts (Steve) and the late Linda Barbot. Sister of Eileen Haag (Jimmy) and the late Mary Ann Bostick (Jules) and Rosalie Arthus. Daughter of the late Jerome Franz and Mary Ann Franz Arthus. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Barbot was a graduate of Redemptorist Girl’s High School and was parishioner of St. Philip Neri Church for 50 years. She loved gardening, shopping and enjoyed sharing her coffee with family and friends. Mrs. Barbot loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd in Metairie, LA on Tuesday December 31, 2024 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be private at Garden of Memories Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
