John "Giovanni" Attardi

John “Giovanni” Attardi passed away on December 15, 2020 at the age of 94. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Marie Buccola Attardi, his children: Karen Dalesandro (Vincent), Mike Martinez III and Mark I. Martinez (Tammie), his grandchildren: Stephanie M. Kreamer (Kurt), Mark I. Martinez Jr. (Katelyne) Marissa Martinez, Micah Martinez and Marcella Martinez, his great-grandchildren: Kurt Kreamer Jr., Aiden Kreamer, Erik Kreamer, Mark I Martinez III, Hadleigh Martinez, Greyson Martinez and Finn Martinez, his niece Grace Currera and nephew Kenny Arnold Jr. There to welcome him into their heavenly home is his parents the late Maria Grazia Attardi and the late Anthony Attardi and his brothers: the late Frank Attardi and the late Gaspar Attardi.

Giovanni proudly served his country in the US Navy during World War II. He was very involved in his community through the years; including being a member of the East Jefferson Italian American Society and Butch Duhe Men’s Club. Giovanni was a longtime parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. He was also a dedicated worker having owned his own business, Giovanni’s Sausage Company. All in all, Giovanni could be described in one word, “Great”. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and patriot. He loved his country and he loved his family dearly. His loving and caring nature will truly be missed by all of those who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 12 noon at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Kenner, LA.
