Beloved husband of Sarah Nelle Barber Jennings after 51 years of marriage.

Most loving father of Sharon Ann Jennings and Stephanie Jennings Kellar.

Father-in-law of Andrew Grayson Kellar.

Devoted grandfather of Haley Sarah Kellar and McKenzie Elizabeth Kellar.

And not to be forgotten, he held a special place in his heart for his grand-dog Butkus “Big Boy” Jennings.

Son of the late Iva Powell Jennings and Robert Ernest Jennings.

Brother of the late Robert William Jennings.

Also survived by other relatives and many friends.

John was born in Shreveport, La. and moved to the New Orleans area where he attended Jefferson High School before serving in the United States Air Force and received an Honorable Discharge. He was a businessman in the Mid-City area for many years while raising his family in Metairie. An avid LSU fan and golfer, he also enjoyed the carnival season and was a founding member of the Krewe of Caeser. He will live in our hearts forever.

The family would like to offer a special “Thank You” to the many doctors and nurses from the Ochsner Cardiology Department for their compassion and dedication to his care over the years.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, February 5, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home 4900 Airline Dr. Metairie, with a Memorial Service to follow in the Chapel at 11:30 a.m.

Interment will be private.
