John Casimir Pittman Sr.

JC Pittman, beloved husband of Estelle T. Pittman, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the age of 97. Father of Sandra (Arleigh)Hays of Kenner, LA; Judy (Lionel) Gaudin of Raleigh, NC; Carolyn (John) LaBruzzo of Tampa, FL; Nancy (John) McCorvey of Jacksonville, FL; John (Jeanne) Pittman, Jr. of Denver, CO and Dan (Therese) Pittman of Prairieville, LA. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

JC was born in Raceland and lived in Harahan since 1956. He graduated from Louisiana State University and worked for American Cyanamid Co., the Boeing Space Program and the New Orleans International Airport. He was a parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St. Rita Catholic Church , a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society where he also served as president for 10 years and was a faithful visitor to Manresa Retreat House for 54 years. He was a member of Colonial Country Club where he enjoyed his golf game and being over 90, he was a proud member of Elmwood Fitness.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 11:00 am at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
