Joseph Daniel Calcagno

Joseph Daniel “Joe Cal” Calcagno passed away peacefully On Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the age of 92. He was born in New Orleans, LA on January 23, 1930 and resided in Harahan, LA. He worked for Jefferson Parish as Chief Mechanical Inspector.

Joseph was preceded in death by his devoted and beloved wife of 36 years, Rosemary Accardo Calcagno, his father, Joseph Calcagno, two sisters, Julie Deslatte and Jackie Martinez, and one brother-in-law, Adam Deslatte.

He leaves behind to mourn his passing his three children, Kim Calcagno Carroll (Vernon), Lisa Calcagno (Tracy), and Frankie Johnson (Jennifer). He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Brian McClendon, Brock McClendon, and Michelle Pineda, his brother, Jerry Conway (Ro), brother-in-law, Angel Martinez, as well as many other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank all who took care of him throughout the last days. We are forever grateful to you all; God bless you for your patience.

A memorial service will be held July 23, 2022 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. Metairie, LA. Visitation will be held from 11AM -1PM with a service to begin at 1PM. The ashes of Joseph’s beloved wife Rosemary will also be present alongside him at his memorial service.
