Joseph Michael Marques

On Sunday, June 15, 2014, our dearly loved Joseph Michael Marques left this earth for the greener and more beautiful golf courses of our Lord’s kingdom. He was born in New Orleans in 1953 and lived his entire life with integrity and kindness to others, always leaving time on Sunday for his cherished Saints. Joe is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Burns Marques and his loving children, Laura Raley (Joshua), Kelly Wisner (Judson), James, Jessica, and Molly. The beautiful grandchildren, William and Olivia, will be reminded often of the love their grandfather had for them and the joy and smiles they brought to his face when nothing else would. His brothers and sisters, Gail Treigle (Everett), Rene (Pauline), Michael (Debra), Natalie Kluttz, and Toni Marques will miss him greatly, but rejoice in his homecoming. For Joe, “knew a man” and this time the Man was of utmost importance. Joe was co-owner of Dading Marques Land Surveyors. He was well liked, and his expertise was appreciated in the surveying business. There are also numerous nieces and nephews who will share stories of Joe with love and laughter. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Rene and Dorothy Marques and his brother, Frank. Carol and the children would like to express thanks to all the Vineyard congregation and the Friday Morning Men’s Breakfast Group, along with all those who donated blood and supported them in so many ways.

Please join his family in a Celebration of his life at the Vineyard Church, 4340 Sal Lentini Parkway, Kenner, LA 70065 on June 21st. from 10:00 am. till 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to the The Vineyard Church of New Orleans in Joe’s name.
