Joyce Marie Vaughn Faustermann

Joyce Marie Vaughn Faustermann, age 88, was called home to God on September 5, 2018 after battling dementia for 8 years. Joyce’s husband of 61 years, John Peter Faustermann, Jr. joined her in Heaven just four days later.

She is survived by her son, John P. Faustermann, III (Michelle); daughters, Arlene Faustermann, Charlene Faustermann, and Beth Faustermann Martinez (Johnnie); grandchildren Jerry (Blanca), Kevin, and Mary Faustermann, Lisa Faustermann Cyprian; Alexander and Cooper Haase; and Roan Faustermann; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers Joseph (Jay) Mouledoux (the late Elizabeth) and Richard Ziolkovski (Nancy); sister Carmen Ziolkovski, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joyce was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth “Betty” Mouledoux Helmer (the late John); grandson John P. Faustermann, IV; and her aunt and uncle who raised her, Mary “MaeMae” Vaughn and Joseph Bonanno.

Joyce was a kind and loving wife and mother who will be missed dearly by her children and family. She was a stay at home mom who ran a home based dog grooming business and assisted her husband in their many business endeavors - home delivery milk business, school bus driver for Jefferson Parish Schools and newspaper delivery for the Times Picayune/States Item.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Charlene Faustermann for her continuous, attentive and loving care of our parents who lived with her for the past 8 years. We will always appreciate your generosity toward Mom and Dad in their most trying years. We would also like to thank Joyce’s primary doctor, Dr. Betty Lo, for many years of wonderful care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a joint Celebration of Life for Joyce and John at Leitz Eagan Funeral Home at 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA 70006. Visitation will be Friday, October 12, 2018 at 5-8 pm, and on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 9-11 am, with a memorial service at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Joyce’s favorite charity, St. Jude’s Hospital in Memphis, TN.
