She was born in New Orleans on June 14, 1927 to Clarence and Lessie Gagnard.
June lived a remarkable life filled with love, kindness, patience, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her.
As a devoted mother and homemaker, she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting her five daughters. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, traveling, the theater, opera and classical music, and many trips to Disney. Her desire and willingness to travel sparked the adventure in all of us. Throughout her life she shared many humorous stories. Especially, growing up in New Orleans with her sisters and girlfriends.
Grandma June loved and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always looked forward to spending time with them.
June is preceded in death by her husband, James Cyprien "JC" Bourgeois, her brother, Clarence Gagnard Jr., and her sister, Virginia Rapp.
She is survived by her sister, Sylvia Saba (Emile “Sonny”); her daughters: Barbara Reed, Wanda Bouvier, Faith Ourso (Daron), Constance Bourgeois, and Laurie Bourgeois (Kevin Gorman), grandchildren: Rachael Reed, Alura Bouvier, Lacey O. Chitwood (Will), Claire O. Anding (Bradley), Abigail G. Daunis (Daniel), Taylor Gorman (Elliott) and Lauren Gorman. Great-grandchildren: Oliver and Henry Anding; James and Miles Daunis; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation on May 25, 2024 at 11:00 am at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Metairie, Louisiana.
Catholic Prayer Service will be held on May 25, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Metairie, Louisiana.
