

Karen Janice Allain Rezza passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on June 5, 1956, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Karen was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and friend. Her life was marked by deep compassion, unwavering strength, and the joy she brought to everyone she met.
A graduate of Archbishop Chapelle High School, Karen went on to build a successful career as an Administrative Assistant at Northwestern Mutual, where she was respected for her dedication, professionalism, and kindness. She was an active member of several organizations that reflected her faith, values, and love for community, including the Laureate XI Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Archbishop Chapelle High School Alumni Association, Divine Mercy Children's Ministry, and the Beginning Experience grief ministry. Through each of these, Karen touched lives with her caring heart and steadfast support.
Karen had a vibrant spirit and an adventurous heart. She loved to travel and found true happiness exploring new places with family and friends. Disney was her favorite destination—a source of countless cherished memories filled with magic, laughter, and wonder.
Karen was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Anna Mae Allain; father, Sherwood Allain; husband, Nicholas P. Rezza; and son, Nicholas J. Rezza. She is survived by her loving sister, Marilyn Allain Poret (Andre'); her brother, Wayne Allain (Cathy); and many adoring nieces and nephews who will always remember her warmth, laughter, and boundless love. Karen’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her selflessness, joyful spirit, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.
A memorial visitation for Karen will be held Monday, June 30, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in the chapel at 11:00am. Inurnment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
