Karin Audrey Veltrop

Mrs. Karin Audrey Veltrop, age 56, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, in the company of her loving family at their home in Metairie, Louisiana. Karin was born in Rochester, New York, on May 2, 1969, and is survived by her parents, Richard Powers and Louise Baker, her stepmother, Susan Powers, and her sister Kim Dolle.

Karin was the loving wife of Eric Edward Veltrop. The couple was married in St. Louis, Missouri, and renewed their vows at St. Clement of Rome Church in Metairie. They honored their 31st wedding anniversary on October 1, only two days before Karin passed away.

Eric and Karin were the devoted parents of Brandon Edward Veltrop, age 30, and Chloe Daray Veltrop, age 14. Brandon is married to Sarah Roccaforte Veltrop, and the couple will soon welcome their first child (and Eric and Karin’s first grandchild). Chloe is a student at Mount Carmel Academy.

Karin graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science degree in education, and worked in sales and design as an Account Manager. She was actively involved in her church and her children’s schools. She particularly loved being a passionate “baseball mom” for Brandon and an avid “dance mom” for Chloe. She leaves a hole in her family’s hearts that can never be filled, but that can be embraced for the impact she had on their lives.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 am on Monday, October 13, at St. Clement of Rome Church, 4317 Richland Avenue, Metairie, Louisiana 70002. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 pm, immediately followed by Interment at Metairie Cemetery in the All-Saints Mausoleum, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, Louisiana 70124. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to The American Cancer Society.
