Kris George Ibos passed away on May 30, 2025, at the age of 67. He was born to Bertrand Ibos and Joan Gilibert Ibos on November 20, 1957. He was raised in Metairie and attended De La Salle High School, Class of 1975. He attended Louisiana State University and then started his career at Eastern Airlines. He continued on to work for Freeport-McMoRan before becoming a Fleet Manager at Leson Chevrolet.
While his children were growing up, he spent most of his time at various gyms and ballparks. In his free time, he enjoyed reading, golfing, and spending time as “Tito” with his grandchildren. Kris loved his family dogs, especially his best friend Oscar.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Katherine (Kathy) Ibos, his daughter Megan Kruse (Sean), and his two sons, Matthew (Stacy) and Michael (Brittany). He is also survived by his greatest admirers, his grandchildren, Olivia and Emma Kruse, James, Grant, and Brody Ibos. He will be greatly missed by his grand-dogs Jax, Louie, Benji, and Beaumont for his unlimited treat policy.
He leaves behind his siblings, Keith (Robin), Kevin (Betsy), Lori, Kory, and Karen. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Terri.
The funeral services will be held at St. Philip Neri Church, 6500 Kawanee Ave, Metairie, LA, on Friday, June 6th. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with Mass to follow.
