Leroy James Morvant

Leroy James Morvant passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at the age of 94. He was born in Patterson, LA and was a resident of Kenner, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hudson J. Morvant and Alida J. Ledet of Lafourche, LA; his five siblings, Claude, Simon, Thomas, Lawrence and Bernice in addition to his former wife, Audrey T. Bernard. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Tommie K. Morvant; two sons, Steven Morvant (Sharon), David Morvant (Kay) and two daughters, Gina Daniel (Steve) and Lisa Sunseri. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Shaun, Bliss, Jared, Simone, Elijah, John and Douglas; 11 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Leroy was an engineer with Public Belt Railroad for 40 years. He loved his family immensely and would do anything for them as well as for others. He enjoyed going to the casinos and was an avid LSU and Saints fan. He will be sorely missed.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am.
