

Lillie Louise Collier Ward passed away peacefully at Chateau De Notre Dame on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Gene Chris Ward. Loving mother of Charles Gene Ward and the late Judith Ward Vizzini. Loving sister to the late Jack Collier. Lillie was the proud and loving grandmother of Peggy Vizzini Bodet, Colleen Vizzini Reilly, Joseph Jacob Vizzini Jr., Charles Everett Ward and the late Christopher Charles Ward. Proud great-grandmother to Kimberly Ward, Colin Reilly, Patrick Reilly, Anthony Bodet, Vincenzo Vizzini, Daniel Reilly and Julia Bodet. Lillie was born to the late William Jack Collier and Dorothy Louise Dial in Atlanta, Georgia on June 22, 1926. She became a lifelong resident of the New Orleans area, most recently living in Jefferson Parish. Lillie retired from her position of Chief Operator for Bell South after 33 years. Lillie was a parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church and was a member of the Altar Society. She also served in community service with the Telephone Pioneers of America and was a dedicated patron of the Arts, donating talent, funds and fund-raising to the Rivertown Repertory Theatre and other live performance cultural centers. Affectionally known to all as “Nana”, she will be forever cherished and missed. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Boulevard, Metairie, on Friday, March 24, 2017 between 9:30 am and 11:00 am with a Mass to follow at 11:00 am.
